Niamh Shaw
General Manager
Niamh has a broad background across wellbeing and community services for NGOs at both governance and operational level. She has served on several school boards in the Upper Clutha, including as Presiding Member of Mt Aspiring College | Te Kura o Tititea. She led Path Wānaka through significant organisational change, and chaired the advisory group for QLDC/ Immigration NZ’s Welcoming Communities project for the district. Niamh is passionate about wellbeing as fundamental to holistic health and is fairly delighted to be working for the community via Headlight

Krista Baker
Workshop Facilitator
Krista has lived and worked in Queenstown for over two decades, and has worked for Plunket since becoming a parent. She is passionate about improving mental wellbeing outcomes for mothers and the wider community, through programmes based based on the 5 Ways to Wellbeing framework. Krista is also a trained GoodYarn facilitator and has delivered this programme on behalf of Headlight. With lived experience, Krista advocates the efficacy of wellbeing tools which she uses herself

Marion Poore (Chair)
Marion has extensive health system experience working early in her career as a GP and more recently as a public health specialist. She sees strengthening the health and wellbeing of people through building resilience and increasing social connectedness as an important way to support communities that are facing multiple challenges.

Madeline Patterson
Madeline is a solicitor with Mactodd Lawyers. Before this, she worked in government social sector roles, spanning operational policy, procurement, community partnerships, privacy and official information.
Maddy also serves as the Ministerially appointed Community Representative on the Ministry of Social Development’s Benefit Review Committee, covering the Queenstown Lakes and Central Otago areas.
She is passionate about ensuring equal opportunities for everyone, and a grassroots approach to improving the mental wellbeing of communities.

Christine Law
Christine has worked in the ski industry for over a decade in management and support roles. Originally from Canada, she has made Queenstown her home and has first hand experience being a transient member of the community, with the challenges that can follow.
Throughout her career, mental health and wellbeing has been a strong focus with her peers and the teams she leads. She has created and delivered events that bring communities together and encourage peer to peer support, and is a strong advocate for mental health literacy

Jean O'Callaghan
Jean has spent her career in the health sector. Starting out as a nurse she worked in hospitals and community before moving into management. She worked in senior management roles in NZ, Australia and the UK.
Upon retirement to Arrowtown Jean was appointed as a deputy commissioner to the Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora and then as a board member. She currently sits on the Idea Services Board of Intellectually Handicapped Children. Jean also participates in a range of interests and activities locally.

Yoko Kakuma
Yoko is a chartered accountant and has experience in the banking, retail and service industries with a focus on sustainability.
She and her family live in Arrowtown, after visiting for a ski season and becoming captivated by the beautiful surroundings and the community.
Originally from Japan, Yoko has spent most of her life overseas in the US, Canada, Belgium, Hong Kong and NZ. Through her experiences, she understands the challenges of moving to a new place and the impact it can have on mental health. She strongly believes in being active and connecting with the community
