Community event at Frankton Library Sat 18th July
After over half a century on this planet, I’ve just found out that libraries are not free everywhere! Apparently, some countries charge subscription fees or memberships to borrow books
I grew up in Ireland where libraries are free, and have happy memories of visiting the library every Wednesday after school, and the shimmering excitement of discovering a new Roald Dahl or Richard Scarry book.
Fortunately here in New Zealand, our libraries are also open to anyone and everyone. The monthly Book Club is a great place to meet people if you’re new to the area, and there are loads of other free events at the library (check out what’s on at Frankton Library over the coming months here).
When we moved to the Queenstown Lakes District, my children went Reading to Dogs at the library, attended several Pyjama Parties, and were proud (if frustrated) members of The Waiting List for the LEGO Club.
And therefore, Headlight is thrilled to partner with QLDC Libraries to bring Connect & Thrive: Wellbeing to Frankton Library in July. Free and open to everyone and anyone, here are the deets:-
