Our Impact

We know that it takes just one person to make a difference.

People going through mental health struggles are more likely to talk to a loved one, friend or colleague before they talk to a health professional.

So by upskilling everyday people with mental health skills, confidence and opportunity to help each other, we are creating a more supportive, compassionate community, that knows how to help and support those who are struggling.

From April 2021 to November 2022, over 300 members of the Queenstown Lakes community attended a GoodYarn workshop. That is good news for the community.

We know from discussions with attendees that people leave the workshops more confident to talk to people around them who are struggling, more empowered to start a conversation with someone they are concerned about, ready to be a support. Plus they are more clued up about their own mental wellbeing.

We see our approach is building a ripple effect of mental wellbeing and it all starts with one person.

You can read more about our impact in the GoodYarn Community Pilot Report published here.
